Fundraising Internship


Job Description:

Assist in developing and carrying out fundraising including; grant writing, major donor solicitation, major mailings, business solicitation and other funding opportunities.


Responsibilities:

Fundraising:

  • Coordinate fundraising mailing and follow up
  • Assist in grant research and writing
  • Solicit donations from area businesses
  • Work with fundraising committee to organize events and fundraising opportunities


Administration:

  • Maintain accurate files of fundraising work
  • Update database to reflect donations and other communications


Experience and Skills Needed:

  • Professional Experience Requirements: Interest or experience in fundraising, organizational development, or community organizing

  • Demonstrated Skills/Abilities Requirements: Interest or abilities in as many of the following areas as possible are highly desirable and will help equip you for the position: fundraising, office management, working with diverse communities

  • Communication and Other Skills Requirements: Proven skill in communicating verbally and in writing, strong people skills including an ability to work with diverse groups, and competency with personal computers are all required. Necessary computer skills include proficiency with word-processing, database, and spreadsheet software. A sense of humor and ability to work in a sometimes busy office are both essential.
